Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) – Laying the Foundations for Lifelong Learning

At King George British International School, the Early Years Foundation Stage (ages 3–5) marks the beginning of each child’s academic journey — a formative stage where we build not only cognitive skills, but also curiosity, independence, and confidence.

Our EYFS programme is designed in line with the British Early Years Curriculum, focusing on the seven key areas of development, with a balance of child-initiated play and guided learning.

Core Development Areas:

Communication & Language

Building vocabulary, listening, and expression through storytelling, songs, and conversations

Literacy

Introduction to phonics, letters, and early reading skills

Mathematics

Exploring numbers, patterns, shapes, and spatial reasoning

Expressive Arts & Design

Developing creativity through art, role play, music, and movement

Physical Development

Enhancing motor skills, coordination, and body awareness through indoor and outdoor play

Our Approach:

  • Warm, nurturing environment with structured daily routines
  • English immersion with native-speaking and internationally trained educators
  • Learning through purposeful play and real-life experiences
  • Progress monitored through continuous observation and developmental milestones

By the end of EYFS, children are confident, curious, and ready to transition smoothly into Primary School (Key Stage 1).
